There are always new fun-sport trends. But seeing Gran Canaria from the air with a Flyboard, is certainly one of the trends with the greatest fun potential. Iron Man showed us in the movie. Equipped with a jet pack, a powerful stream pushes you from under your feet into lofty heights.
After a short while you will get familiar with it and will be able to make pirouettes or somersaults like the man in his iron red armor. Even without previous experience you will get the hang of it and quickly. Although initially there will be multiple unwanted descents, once you get that under control, you and your pulse will shoot up in the air. Today, fun comes first. Clark, lift your fist up and take off!

How Flyboarding Works
Jet Ski racing world champion Franky Zapata was looking for a new kind of relaxation and leisure activity that he could do besides his dangerous sport. So he fiddled with a kind of jet-powered snowboard or wakeboard. It was not supposed to be strapped on the back but under the feet. It was in 2011, when Franky introduced the world to the flyboard.
Your feet are strapped to a board. You stand upright and this way you will also rise in the air. There are nozzles under the board. The flyboard is connected to a JetSki through a hose. If you were alone, you needed a hand control to regulate the performance of the JetSki. But you are trying the Flyboard on Gran Canaria for the first time. This is why one of the guides controls the thrust services. The guide sitting on the JetSki accelerates and you notice how the power jets under your feet start puhshing you upwards. Now it is important that you keep the balance and your body tension. The guide will give you some advice and after a few minutes you will manage to float on the beam.
What to Consider With the Flyboard
You should be at least 14 years old and have average fitness. A bit more than a couch potato, but certainly not as much as a tri-athlete either. Previous experience is not necessary. However, you should always follow the instructions of the guides; otherwise there is a risk of injury. You will receive a helmet and a life jacket from the organizer. And if necessary, you can also borrow a wetsuit.
Where Can You Try a Flyboard on Gran Canaria
These days, Gran Canaria offers flyboard opportunities in almost every water sport center of the holiday resorts. Flyboarding is also offered in Las Palmas. You will definitely find it in Playa del Ingles, Anfi and Puerto Rico. From Maspalomas you have to drive there by yourself or you can be picked up. We recommend to find the exact places where flyboarding is offered before the start of your holiday and to book your appointment in advance. This is advisable especially during the summer month, as this popular activity is quickly booked up.
And who knows, after only a few tries, you may already be a pros that can do tricks like the dolphin, a back-flip, or the tornado 180. One thing is for sure, you will certainly learn how to ascend and land. Theoretically should be able to lift yourself up to 10 meters. One thing is for sure: you will not stay dry and you will have lots of fun.
